Washington Huskies

The Washington Huskies are the athletic teams at the University of Washington. The University of Washington is a member of the NCAA Division I-A and the Pacific Ten Conference. The athletic program is made up of 10 men's sports and 11 women's sports.

The University football team's first game was in 1889. The 1991 team is considered to be the best Washington Husky football team and among the best in college football history. The team went undefeated.  The Huskies hold 2 National Championships, 15 Pac-10 titles, and 30 Bowl appearances.

In the 2006-2007 season, the Huskies basketball program faltered. After previous successful seasons, the Huskies did not even appear in the NIT.  The team found success late in the season.  The Huskies are expected to rebuild for the 2007-2008 season.  The Huskies hold 9 Pac 10 Titles, 1 Pac 10 Tournament title and several sweet 16 appearances over the years.
